Overview
Over a six-month engagement, Saitech Inc. partnered closely with the Mesa County IT team to modernize mobile operations for the Sheriff’s Office and patrol fleet. Law enforcement officers operate in demanding, unpredictable environments, and the County required a rugged mobility solution capable of withstanding harsh conditions while delivering long-term reliability, performance, and cost efficiency. Saitech approached the project with a clear objective: design and deploy a future-ready ecosystem that supports mission-critical operations both today and for years to come.
The Challenge
Law enforcement operations depend on reliable technology that performs consistently in harsh, real-world conditions. Mesa County required a rugged mobility solution capable of supporting officers in the field while accommodating diverse vehicle configurations, maintaining secure and stable connectivity, and aligning with long-term operational and financial planning goals.
To meet these requirements, the County needed a solution that went beyond hardware selection, one that addressed durability, lifecycle reliability, seamless deployment, and cost predictability without disrupting ongoing patrol operations.
The Solution
Following a detailed assessment of operational requirements, vehicle configurations, and connectivity needs, Saitech worked with the Getac team to evaluated multiple rugged computing options before recommending the Getac V120. This device emerged as the best fit due to its proven durability, field-ready performance, and five-year bumper-to-bumper warranty, ensuring consistent reliability throughout its lifecycle.
To further strengthen mobile connectivity, the solution incorporated the Panorama Antenna BATGM-7-60-24-58, enabling stable, high-quality communication for officers while on patrol, regardless of location or conditions.
A key differentiator of this engagement was Saitech’s flexible five-year lease-to-own model. This approach allowed Mesa County to adopt a comprehensive solution valued in the three-quarters of a million-dollar range without the strain of significant upfront capital investment. The contract, active through January 2031, aligns financial planning with technology refresh cycles while ensuring predictable costs over time. In addition, the agreement included full installation and deployment services, minimizing operational disruption during the transition.
Saitech’s certified installation team will be handling every aspect of deployment, from the safe removal of end-of-life equipment to the professional installation of new devices, mounts, antennas, and accessories. All cabling was carefully concealed, vehicle integrity was preserved, and safety systems remained fully protected, demonstrating Saitech’s meticulous, safety-first methodology.
Impact & Results
Through this end-to-end implementation, Saitech delivered more than hardware. The result is a scalable, resilient mobility ecosystem that enhances officer safety, improves operational efficiency, and equips Mesa County with a dependable, future-proof solution designed to support law enforcement missions well into the next decade.
